Hey Newport Power Families,

We’re delighted to be kicking off the football season this weekend — it’s been a long time coming! All the hard work over pre-season will soon be paying off.

To those of you joining the Newport Power community this year – welcome! It’s great to have you on board. And to the rest of you – welcome back! With over 20 teams from U8’s to U16’s, it’s shaping up to be another fantastic year for the Teal, White and Black!

👥 Volunteers Make It Happen
To support our teams, we need an army of volunteers for each game. Every volunteer gives their time and effort to ensure each child gets a chance to play the game they love.

We kindly ask that you:

- Be patient and respectful – everyone is doing their best.
- Step up when it’s your turn to help – just like others do.

⚖️ Respect Our Umpires
Please remember: our umpires and officials are human too. They make mistakes like the rest of us — and many of them are still learning, just like our kids. Without them, there’s no game.

There are no perfect umpires, just like there are no perfect players.

💛 Cheer Loud, Cheer Right
We all get excited — sometimes too excited. But let’s keep it in perspective:

- Barrack loudly and proudly for our kids, and for the opposition too.
- Remember – this isn’t the AFL. Every player out there is just a kid doing their best.

🙌 Let’s Create a Great Environment
At Newport Power, we’re committed to creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where kids can thrive and volunteers feel supported.

We do not tolerate rude or aggressive behaviour, and thankfully, we rarely see it. But if you do witness unacceptable behaviour and can’t call it out directly, please contact the Match Day Manager — they’re there to help.
