NPJFC and impacts of stage 3 COVID restrictions

8 Jul 2020 by NPJFC Communications

Dear NPJFC families,

With Melbourne Metro returning to Stage Three lock-down, we are in the unfortunate position of having to once again, cancel all training sessions effective immediately.

Unfortunately, community sport is not covered within the definition of ‘exercise’ and the Stage 3 restrictions do not provide and opportunity for group training or competitions.

Over the coming days the AFL, WRFL, club presidents and committees will be remotely meeting and discussing the viability of the junior football season and when a decision is reached a communication will be issued to all our families. We understand that many of our football community will have questions related to registration fees given the position of the season, we will be seeking clarity from the WRFL and as mentioned, we will pass all options related to this matter on to you as soon at that clarity it reached.

This is disappointing result for all our community, however we do encourage families to utilise BMO for exercise, just make sure that you are doing so in line with all the current guidelines.

As a committee, we would like to thank all our coaches, support staff, parents, sponsors and community members for your conduct and support throughout this unprecedented time.

Let’s make sure that we are keeping ourselves and our community safe by abiding by all restrictions.

Stay safe,

Go Power!

Newport Power Committee
